First Nations Family Response Facilitator

About the Role

Our Family and Child Connect program has an opportunity for a motivated and passionate Family Response Facilitator to join the team. This is a Permanent, Full-time position, located in Toowoomba.

 

This position provides quality service delivery to children, young people, families and the community within the Family and Child Connect Service (FaCC). You will be required to provide services to the Toowoomba and great surrounds region, the wider Family and Child Connect team, engage with families, particularly First Nations Families engaged in the program, and a wide variety of service providers to facilitate vital connections to supports for those families in our communities.

 

$82,044  annually (award) plus superannuation plus generous salary packaging available

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Assess information provided in a referral, engage with families with multiple and high-level needs and provide resources
  • Delivery of culturally inclusive services and case management
  • Engage with families with multiple and high-level needs and provide resources, information and advice regarding appropriate community support options
  • Complete referrals out to appropriate services
  • Provide services to the wider Toowoomba region and beyond, the Family and Child Connect team
  • Engage with families and a wide variety of service providers to facilitate vital connections to supports for those families in our communities

 

About you

As the successful applicant, you will possess:

  • Degree in Child Protection, Human Services, Social Work, Psychology or related discipline from a recognised institution
  • To perform this role, it is essential that the person who holds the position be an Aboriginal person or Torres Strait Islander person and is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25, 104 and 105 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld)
  • Previous experience working effectively across a range of service providers, both government and non-government, to negotiate high quality service provision to families who have complex issues
  • Demonstrated intermediate ability to use computer IT systems including MS Word and Excel Queensland Provisional Green or above Driver Licence
  • A positive notice in the Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and the ability to obtain any other legislatively required personal history screening as required
  • Evidence of current vaccination against whooping cough or willingness to obtain prior to commencement, unless applicable exemption provided as per the relevant MC procedure
