About the role
Mercy Community has an opportunity for an experienced Financial Accountant - Revenue to join our Corporate Team based in Nudgee. This a Permanent Full-Time position.
This role will work closely with Finance Business Partners to provide operational decision support and with Finance Accounts Receivable Officers to validate invoicing and account adjustments.
Salary: Commensurate with experience plus super plus NFP salary packaging available
What you’ll be doing
Key responsibilities include:
- Review resident billing, including accommodation charges, daily fees, additional services, and home care package statements.
- Ensure accurate calculation of means-tested fees, RAD/DAP arrangements, and other resident contributions.
- Manage monthly Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI) or AN-ACC revenue claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Department of Health requirements.
- Reconcile government payments including subsidies, supplements, and home care package funding.
- Monitor changes in funding rules, supplements, and legislation, advising management of impacts on revenue.
- Prepare monthly movement journal, revenue accruals and reconciliations in accordance with accounting standards.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting of revenue streams across aged care services.
- Ensure all revenue processes comply with Aged Care Quality Standards, funding legislation, and internal controls.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, reconciliations, and explanations as required.
- Maintain strong data integrity across finance, care management, and resident management systems.
About you
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in the aged care, health, or community services sector strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in revenue accounting, billing, or financial reconciliation roles.
