Finance Performance Analyst

About the Role

 Mercy Community is looking for a Finance Performance Analyst to join our team and play a key role in supporting the growth of our Aged Care stream. This is a 12-month maternity cover opportunity with plenty of room to make an impact. 

 As our Finance Performance Analyst, you’ll be instrumental in month-end processes, financial reporting, and supporting our leaders with actionable insights. You’ll work closely with senior leaders to monitor budgets, analyse trends, and optimise financial performance across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyse financial reports, forecasts, and variance analyses to support decision-making
  • Lead accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including preparation of journals (e.g., accruals)
  • Provide clear insights and commentary on budget performance, trends, and emerging financial risks
  • Partner with senior leaders to develop and manage budgets, monitor expenditure, and optimise resources
  • Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations to ensure data accuracy
  • Assist Finance Business Partners with prudential compliance reporting, Stewart Brown reporting, and program acquittals
  • Provide general finance support as required by the Senior Finance Manager and Head of Finance

About You

To succeed in this role, you will:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field and be studying towards your CA/CPA
  • Have 3+ years’ experience in financial accounting, analysis, or a similar role
  • Be an analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Communicate financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders
  • Ideally have experience in Aged Care, Retirement Living, or Not-for-Profit sectors
  • Have exposure to Technology One CIA and intermediate Microsoft Office skills (advantageous)
