About the Role

Mercy Community Services has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Program Manager to join our team on a permanent full-time basis. This role supports Connected Families, New Families, Family Intervention and Youth Support Service Programs, with the option to be based at our Toowoomba or Ipswich office. Local travel across South-East Queensland will be required.

As Senior Program Manager, you’ll provide leadership and direction across these programs, ensuring the consistent implementation of best practice strategies to meet the needs of children, young people, and families—empowering them to reach their full potential.

Salary: $129,205 – $134,295 per annum (SCHADS L8) plus superannuation and generous salary packaging

Key Responsibilities

 This role involves but not limited to - 

  • Contribute to the development of key projects, budgets, and monitor financial performance against targets within agreed timeframes and frameworks
  • Support program growth and sustainability through proposals, funding applications, operational and strategic planning, and business cases
  • Ensure services are delivered in a safe, culturally responsive, and client-focused manner
  • Build and maintain effective professional relationships with funding bodies and government partners
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify client needs and deliver high-quality services that support clients in achieving their goals

About You

  • A degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related discipline with significant relevant experience
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in social welfare, including team supervision, financial management, and conflict resolution
  • Strong knowledge of the Queensland child protection system
  • Proficiency with computer systems (intermediate level)
  • Queensland Provisional Green or higher driver’s licence

Desirable

  • Current First Aid and CPR certifications
  • Experience working in partnership with government, service providers, and key stakeholders
  • Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and a demonstrated commitment to culturally appropriate engagement and practice
