About the role
Mercy Community are on the search for an experienced Counsellor to join our Families team based in Ipswich on a 12-month Fixed Term Full-time contract. We are seeking the successful applicant to start as soon as possible. This is a great opportunity to gain and develop your skills in your career journey!
The successful applicant will provides counselling and therapeutic services to clients; including assessments, pre- & post-evaluations and interventions. This position also liaises with a broad network of stakeholders who participate in or impact on the success of client plans, referrals and goals. As part of this role, you will be guided by a well experienced Team Manager and work amongst a supportive team environment.
$85,126.00 per annum (SCHADS level 4) plus superannuation plus salary packaging available
This role involves but not limited to -
- Work collaboratively with your line manager to identify client needs and deliver appropriate services within available resources, continually assessing effectiveness and responding to changing needs and dynamics
- Provide knowledge and information relevant to the enquiry, referral and welcome process of service delivery, including knowledge of services available within the region stakeholders, parents and carers
- Complete relevant assessments which underpin the therapeutic goals, intervention plans, casework and support for clients
- Provide short/long term individual and/or family counselling for clients in response to referrals allocated to you by your line manager. This may include a variety of therapeutic counselling interventions, which target the issues identified in the referral and those assessed and identified by the counsellor, client and/or referring body
About you
As the successful applicant, you will possess:
- Degree in Social Work, Social Science, Counselling, Psychology, Behavioural Sciences or
- related discipline from a recognised institution
- Demonstrated experience developing individualised and/or family treatment plans
- Queensland Provisional Green or above Driver’s License
- Current and valid Paid Blue Card (Queensland Working with Children Check) or ability to apply
- Evidence of current vaccination against whooping cough (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
