About the role
Mercy Community are on the search for a dynamic and experienced Case Worker to join our Family Intervention Program based in Toowoomba. This role is a Permanent Full-time opportunity, working alongside a supportive team.
The successful applicant will support children remaining in the care of their parents or assisting with the reunification of children to the parents who are subject to Child Safety involvement. You will working alongside a team with a variety of experience/skills, guided by a great Team Manager and Senior Program Manager.
$85,126.00 per annum (SCHADS Level 4) plus superannuation plus salary packaging available
This role involves but not limited to -
- Operate within the program’s theoretical framework, engaging family members respectfully to promote dignity and self-determination
- Utilising of the Strengthening Families Framework to support families in identifying their strengths and barriers, goals and actions required to achieve these goals
- Assess all aspects of family resources, including external support
- Help families set meaningful, achievable goals for change, leveraging their own resources when possible
- Develop the practical skills of parents to care for their child, improve the safety of the family home environment and strengthen the attachment between parent and child/ren within a strengths-based and evidence-informed practice framework
About you
As the successful applicant, you will possess:
- Degree in Social Work, Social Science, Psychology or related discipline from a recognised institution
- Ability to obtain positive notice in the legislatively required personal history check in line with service stream compliance requirements
- Queensland Provisional Green or above Driver’s License
- Current and valid Paid Blue Card (Queensland Working with Children Check) or ability to apply
- Evidence of current vaccination against whooping cough (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement)
