Practice Lead – Aged Care Services

About the role

Mercy Community are on the search to find an experienced Practice Lead to join our Aged Care Services team based in Nudgee on a Permanent Full-time basis. The successful applicant will be required to travel to our Aged Care Services in Townsville and Rockhampton.

This Practice Lead is responsible for providing clinical leadership and guidance to aged care staff including playing a crucial role in developing and implementing clinical training resources, reviewing policies and procedures, promoting best practices, and supporting the delivery of exception care. 

Salary commensurate with experience plus superannuation plus salary packaging available

This role involves but not limited to -

  • Support and advise staff during critical incident reviews and root cause analysis and assist in implementing recommendations
  • Conduct a Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major or frequent high-risk incidents that need detailed evaluations of complex cases and collaborate with quality and governance teams to resolve issues
  • Lead or support complex care discussions and facilitate practice discussions to promote reflective practice, learning, and ongoing guidance for individuals and teams
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical practice and contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives

About you

As the successful applicant, you will possess -

  • 5 year+ post-graduate experience
  • Registered Nurse with a current APHRA registration
  • Proven leadership experience including 3+ years’ experience in management role within Residential Aged Care
  • Strong knowledge of aged care standards and rights
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
