Senior Legal Counsel – Nudgee

The Role

Mercy Community Services are on the search for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our team. This role is a Permanent Full-Time role based in our Nudgee office (with up to 2 ‘Working from Home’ day opportunity). 

Reporting to the General Counsel & Company Secretary, and a key member of the Legal, Governance and Risk Team, you will provide commercially focused legal support and advice to stakeholders across all levels of the organisation. 

Key responsibilities include -

  • Providing legal advice on a broad range of complex legal matters including privacy matters, regulatory matters, workplace health and safety, employment, property and general commercial matters and disputes;
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of contracts including supply of goods and services agreements, professional services agreement, IT agreements and leases as well as assisting with policy writing and reviews;
  • Developing and implementing a contract approval process and managing the legal workflow intake process;
  • Assisting with organisational compliance and risk management;
  • Developing and presenting training for employees including in relation to privacy, whistleblower protections, contractual matters and legislative and regulatory changes;
  • Assisting with Company Secretarial tasks.

Salary commensurate with experience plus superannuation plus generous salary packaging available.

To be successful, you will be a qualified lawyer with solid experience in private practice or in-house. A resilient and adaptable professional, you will have expert technical skills and the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.  You are an outcomes-focused individual able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
