About the Role 

Mercy Community Services have an opportunity for a passionate Local Level Alliance and Family Response Facilitator. This is a Permanent Full-Time opportunity based in our Caboolture office.  

The role will provide direct support to families and raise awareness of the Family and Child Connect service within the community. With a focus on supporting the integration of joint case management processes and support communication across a wide variety of service providers to facilitate vital connections to supports for families in our communities.  

$85,126 - $91,588 (SCHADS L4) plus superannuation plus generous salary packaging available

What you’ll be doing 

  • As a Local Level Alliance and Family Response Facilitator (LLAFRF), some of your key duties will include:
  • Provide the community development component of the Family and Child Connect service within the Local Level Alliance (LLA) 
  • Take a lead role in maintaining the LLA, including administrative processes, engaging and maintaining membership of the LLA  
  • Liaise and interact with a broad network of stakeholders who participate in or impact on the successful outcomes for our clients and families 
  • Support communication, integration of joint case management processes and inter-agency processes regarding timely client responses 
  • Assess information provided in a referral, engage with families (including completing risk and needs assessment) with multiple and high-level needs and provide resources and referrals to relevant support services 
  • Engage with high needs families through outreach, providing active case holdings and brief interventions 
  • Support the wider Family and Child Connect team to connect with and access support services and referral pathways within the local community

About You 

As the successful candidate, you will possess: 

  • Bachelor's degree (or above) in Child Protection, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services or related discipline from a recognised institution 
  • Previous experience within a community development and family support role with a sound understanding of the Queensland child protections system and supporting vulnerable families and children 
  • Knowledge of First Nations cultures and historical and contemporary impacts, with a commitment to respectful culturally safe engagement and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to facilitate meetings with a wide range of stakeholders 
  • Queensland Provisional Green or above Driver Licence 
  • Ability to obtain positive notice in the Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and any other legislatively required personal history screening as required
