About the role

Mercy Community Services are on the search for an exciting Allied Health - Team Leader (Permanent Full-time role) to join our Community Aged Care team based in Rockhampton. This is a salaried pay level role with further discussion on experience and qualification pay package. 

This role provides leadership and supervision to the designated allied health team and works to ensure optimum clinical care for our consumers. The team leader provides clinical support to the care and service team to ensure that consumers receive optimal clinical care. 

This role entails but not limited to - 

  • Provide direct consumer care and allied health services congruent with recognised best practice and procedures
  • Formulating a plan or care with the primary aim of providing optimal quality of life for the individual and/or group, in consultation with the consumer and their representative
  • Maintaining accurate and appropriate documentation of care and service
  • Effectively manage team members and volunteers involved in care and service that support consumer care needs

About you

As the successful candidate, you will possess:

  • Tertiary qualification in Allied Health (Occupational Therapist or Social Worker or similar field) mandatory 
  • Previous experience in a similar role, either in aged care or similar environments - desirable 
  • Demonstrated ability to provide a high standard of comprehensive allied health care, consistent with the Regulatory Boards of Australia Registration scope of practice accountabilities
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Dementia Care and Palliative Care specialist services
  • Have and maintain a Queensland Driver's Licence
