About the role

Mercy Community Aged Care Services are on the search for Personal Care Assistants to join our team in Rockhampton. We are looking to fill Permanent Part time and Casual roles. Pay levels will be discussed during the shortlisting process to determine the candidate's interest for a Permanent Part Time or Casual role. 

Our Personal Care Assistant, assists and supports the care teams in the provision of safe quality consumer-centered care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, Enrolled Nurse or other designated senior care team member. Our 3 Aged Care locations are located in The Range (Bethany and McAuley) and Park Avenue (Leinster Place). 

Your role will support (but not limited to):

  • Maintaining a friendly homelike environment where residents are encouraged to engage in activities of their choice
  • Ensuring the safe and appropriate use of equipment, with an emphasis on resident comfort and safety
  • Assisting with all aspects of personal hygiene – showering, continence, bedding, and clothing
  • Actively monitoring residents’ condition and report any changes in condition or behaviour to the Registered Nurse 

About you

As the successful candidate, you will possess: 

  • Studying towards or completed a Certificate III in Individualised Support – Aged Care or a similar qualification or a higher qualification related to the health field
  • Able to work across a 7-day roster supporting in a variety of shifts - morning, afternoon and/or night shifts
