About the Role
Mercy Community Services - Family and Child Connect (FaCC) program has an opportunity for a motivated and passionate First Nations Family Response Facilitator to join the team. This is a Permanent Full-time position, located in Townsville.
You will engage with families and a wide variety of service providers to facilitate vital connections to supports for those families within the Townsville region.
$85,126 - $91,588 annually (SCHADS L4) plus superannuation plus generous salary packaging available
What you’ll be doing
- Assess information provided in a referral, engage with families with multiple and complex needs and provide information, advice, and referrals
- Provide services to the Townsville region for the Family and Child Connect team
- Engage with families and a wide variety of service providers to facilitate vital connections to supports for those families in our communities
About you
As the successful applicant, you will possess:
- To perform this role, it is essential that the person who holds the position be an Aboriginal person and/or Torres Strait Islander person and is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25, 104 and 105 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld)
- Either:
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Behavioural Sciences, Psychology or relevant discipline (highly advantageous); OR
- Extensive demonstrated experience in a family support service position
- Previous experience working effectively within government or non-government services, to provide high quality services to families who have complex needs
- Queensland Provisional Green or above Driver Licence
- A positive Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and the ability to obtain any other legislatively required personal history screening as required
- Evidence of current vaccination against whooping cough or willingness to obtain prior to commencement, unless applicable exemption provided
