Recreation Officer

Mercy Community Aged Care Rockhampton supports and inspires people in need to live healthy lives within inclusive communities. Providing both high & low care, our residential facilities offer a range of services and believe a big part of what we do is to help our residents flourish, knowing what is important to them and their individual needs. We are presently looking for the right person to join our team as a Recreation Officer, supporting the team to deliver a range of meaningful activities to our residents.

 

As a Recreation Officer you will deliver both individual and group activities and diversional therapy programs to support the residents with social interaction, enhancing their quality of life.

 

$29.24 – 31.89 per hour plus superannuation plus generous salary packaging available

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Identifying each resident's individual needs with respect to capacity, skill and preferences related to their lifestyle activities
  • Implementing individual & group activities, reporting on individual outcomes and participating in reviews of programs and outcomes
  • Developing a Monthly Activity Program with Facility Manager input

 

About You:

  • Certificate IV in Leisure & Lifestyle, studying towards or willing to obtain
  • Current First Aid certificate
  • Previous experience in a similar role, Aged Care experience beneficial
  • Queensland Provisional Green or above Driver License
